FAQ

  • It is constantly varied, functional movement, done at relatively high intensity. What that means in English is that we do a bunch of different workouts, comprised of simple body-weight and free-weight movements, and we are pushing ourselves as hard as we want to or can on that day.

  • This program starts athletes where they are and takes them to more than they thought they could be! Each workout includes both bodyweight and dumbbell variations.

  • Anything done incorrectly can be dangerous! By going through our Intro Session you are learning the correct way to move and approach workouts. Once in classes you are under the watchful eye of a coach whose sole purpose is to push you outside your comfort zone while maintaining a safe environment. CrossFit done correctly is not dangerous!

  • Anyone who is new to CrossFit, youth who would like to move from our Youth specific classes to CrossFit or those who would like a refresher on essential movements we will do in our CrossFit classes is REQUIRED to complete our CrossFit Foundations session.

  • We are sorry to hear that but not a problem! The beauty of our workouts is that they can be adjusted, scaled, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. Let our team know and we can work together to come up with a plan on how to accommodate any injuries or limitations.

  • Clothes that you are comfortable moving in. Make sure they are clothes you are ok sweating in. You will sweat! There are tons of CrossFit-specific clothes and shoes out there but you do not need any of that to get started. If you are looking to upgrade the wardrobe we can point you in the right direction.

  • All members are required to pre-enroll in classes to secure their spot in the class time they would like to attend. All classes are capped, with the exception of our Saturday community workouts. If you are unable to enroll prior to the cap then your name will be added to a waitlist. If you are on the waitlist you will need to wait until a spot opens to attend the class. The system will notify you directly if space becomes available.

Additionally if you enroll in the class and can no longer attend you are required to cancel your enrollment. If you fail to cancel your enrollment 30 minutes prior to the start of class, a class will be deducted from your pass or punch card or you will be charged $5 cancellation fee for the class.

You can enroll in all classes using your ZenPlanner app/website or SugarWOD app. If you are unsure how to enroll in classes, please ask.

  • We value our members and coaches time; therefore we ask all of our members to be on time for class.

However we understand that sometimes tardiness cannot be avoided due to traffic or other extenuating circumstances. If a member is late to class, they will need to check in with the coach on duty to determine if they will still be able to attend class. We typically will extend a 5-10 minute grace period as long as the class is still in the middle of the group warm up. BUT expect a burpee “fee”!

If the class has commenced the skill or strength portion of the class then the member will be asked to attend the next scheduled class of the day. If the member is allowed to join the class, then they will be given an alternate warm-up to be completed immediately so as not to further delay the class. The individual may also be asked to sit out of the skill or strength portion if they are late. Please note: This policy is meant to ensure that classes run on schedule and in a safe manner. We value your safety as well as the classes safety and we ask that all of our members respect this policy.

  • SugarWOD is a fun, social way to track your workouts, Personal records and lift percentages. Using it is totally optional (you can keep your account private), but it is FREE with a variety of our membership options.

  • Short answer- James ( one of our owners ) is a HUGE Star Wars nerd! And Destiny ( other owner and wife ) plays along with the fandom.

But in all seriousness, we loved the idea of what the series and team stood for. They were a group of unique ‘individuals’ that had their own skillsets but worked together to complete their task/mission and became a family along the way.

We want to do the same- bring individuals together to create a badass community through our mission of providing guided fitness to Kaukauna and the surrounding areas.
